Introducing the DIAMOND project

It’s been two months since the kick-off meeting of an exciting new project that CSTS is proud to be part of. DIAMOND is a large-scale project focusing on improving integrated assessment models toward net-zero sustainable development in Europe.

The DIAMOND project aims to update, upgrade, and fully open six Integrated Assessment Models (IAMs) that are emblematic in scientific and policy processes, improving their sectoral and technological detail, spatiotemporal resolution, and geographic granularity.

The project kick-off meeting was hosted by the Institute of Communications and Computer Systems (ICCS) at the National Technical University of Athens on the 15th and 16th of December last year, where the DIAMOND team representing 19 different organisations across 12 countries put their minds together for the first time.

The two-day event began with a full-project overview, a first step towards getting to know the different facets of the project. We got down to business on the second day, exploring the challenges, opportunities and near-term objectives DIAMOND’s seven work packages face. You can find the project on external pageLinkedIn, external pageTwitter and external pageInstagram.

Since then, Stephanie Briers has joined the CSTS team as a post-doctoral researcher and will be focusing on the DIAMOND project. We look forward to an exciting new year to come with the introduction of DIAMOND at the CSTS. We’ll make sure to keep you updated!
