CSTS member hosts session at Eu-SPRI Annual Conference 2025
Anne-Sophie Schaltegger will host a conference session together with a colleague from Radboud University, Sophie van der Does, at this year’s edition of the annual conference of the European Forum for the Studies of Policies for Research and Innovation.

The conference titled Shaping societal futures with STI Policies focuses on questions around the role of STI policies in supporting societal transformation and their capacity to adapt to rapid changes in society and foster resilience and innovation capacity.
Anne-Sophie and Sophie’s session Coping with multiple accountability commitments within transdisciplinary research, policy and funding aims to explore the multiple and contradicting forms of accountabilities actors face when conducting, participating in, governing, funding, and evaluating transdisciplinary research (TDR). Contributions in this session will acknowledge the role of STI policy in creating contradicting accountability requirements when demanding public participation and societal impact, while TDR is still embedded in an institutional context that requires scientific excellence measured by disciplinary standards.
Particularly welcome to this session are interdisciplinary perspectives that are based on qualitative or mixed-methods research.
